Learn to hand embroider with me

If you've ever wanted to hand embroider, I can show you how in my online hand embroidery class! It includes videos and pdf patterns.

Not only do I show via videos how to do the stitches -  basic back stitch, colonial knots, satin stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch and lazy daisies - but then you can use what you've learned on a needlebook, a spacious zipper pouch, a pincushion and a boxed tote, all designed to be embroidered with your own choice of designs, and then gifted or used for storing your own stitching treasures. Patterns are included for these projects!

The stitches are all easy to master and more than enough to make your embroidery projects look professional and interesting. You can also use the stitches to make your own designs. Instructions include a full alphabet and numbers 0-9!

Need some cute Christmas cards?

Woohoo they’re here! I’m in love. I decided to have my own Christmas cards printed this year, so I ordered some extras for sale!

The full cards are printed on beautiful satin matt card and come with the cute red striped envelopes.

The inside of the cards shown here have our family message but yours will simply say Merry Christmas in the same type and colour. There are five cards and envelopes in a packet for $16AUS.

The tags are printed on beautiful satin matt cards with gold foil. The gift tags will have a hole punched in the top left hand corner, and a red metallic string tie will be threaded through each. There is one of each of the six designs in a packet for $16 AUS.

In your message PLEASE INCLUDE your name, email address and what country you are in for postage. Please be aware that international postage will take a few weeks to arrive. 

QuiltCon Together sample

I’m working on another sample for my Quiltcon Together class today!

 

 

Quiltcon is online in 2021- which means we can have lots more students, and you can attend from your house, anywhere in the world. How fun is that!

You can still enrol for my class which teaches you to appliqué this lovely block, and also comes with a little freebie pattern to make your panel into a tote bag.

2021 BOM design evolution

It’s certainly been a year of getting things done in bits and pieces. This is not normal for me - I’m a get in and get it done kind of girl, a normally busy person. This year has thrown some spanners into my works that’s for sure!

It’s also been a lesson that small things add up to big things, and that getting things done at your own pace is important and worthy.

With that in mind, here’s a little of the slow evolution of my 2021 Block of the Month design, Rainy Days and Sun Rays. All my designs are drawn by hand with pencil and a black fine liner. Each one involves many sketches and many versions and revisions.

 

 

I can’t wait to start stitching this quilt, which I’m going to do on December 1! Good to have Date Goals  

if you would like to stitch this quilt along with me in your own slow evolution, signups are now open, material requirements are available on December 15 and the first pattern drops on January 31. The BOM is entirely delivered via pdf and comes with full video instruction on all the techniques involved.

Look at these cute Christmas stockings!

I’ve been meaning to post these for ages- my friend Joyce made them for her family using my Christmas stocking pattern! Seriously how cute are those?

I’m hosting a Christmas ornament swap!

 

 

Here’s how to play along 

1. Sign up using this link.

2. Make or buy (preferably make but ok to buy one if you run out of time!) a Christmas ornament. Or if you aren't a sewer - lots of my FB friends aren’t!! - you can play along too by buying a pretty ornament to send. Remember that you would like to receive something lovely, and so would your partner.

3. Package the ornament up nicely with some wrapping paper, a little extra treat if you’re so inclined, a Christmas card, some cute stickers... just make your package a fun thing to get in the post!

4. Pop it in the post to your swap partner by December 7.

Rules

1. The most important. Please don’t sign up unless you intend to do this!! It’s no fun at all if someone misses out on a package, and way unfair if you get one and your partner doesn’t! Don’t be the Grinch

2. Aussies only, sorry international peeps. With a little more foresight I might run this again next year internationally.

3. You must give me all the details of your address etc that I ask for on the form to be signed up. I can’t send you information or have your package sent to you unless you do! Please read the questions carefully and check your entry before pressing send.

4. You can post pictures of what you’re making etc on social media but PLEASE PLEASE don’t reveal who your partner is!!!! It’s supposed to be a surprise.

1. Signups close November 8.

2. Partner information emailed to you.

3. Packages mailed by December 7.
