With Christmas just around the corner and sad things happening around the world, I thought I would take a moment to think of the things that make me so lucky and so happy every day.
* My beautiful, safe and healthy boys
* My happy and supportive marriage to my wonderful husband
* The year full of incredible opportunities and experiences I have had
* The people who surround me, from my family to my beautiful friends, my students to my blog readers, my twitter and my facebook friends, my publishers, my fabric distributors and my Craftsy team! You are all incredible and I'm so lucky to work and play with you all.
To that end, today I'm off to Cottage Quiltworks for a morning I organised to sit and sew with a bunch of people from near and far. No teaching, just chat, sewing and making new friends, and seeing some old ones. I'll let you know what we all get up to.

I've been doing the same thing ~ being thankful for what a wonderful life I have. It's been a rough month here in the States and it's really wonderful to know that people all over the world are thinking of what's happened here.

Hi Sarah! Thanks for the lovely post, it truly was an emotional holiday season (it's so hard not to get political when commenting on this, especially from outside the U.S. [I'm in Canada]). Anyway, best wishes for the new year to you and your family -- and I also wanted to let you know that I am absolutely loving your craftsy class!!
