Holy huge boxes of Kona Cotton Batman! Looky what I got, I am surely the luckiest girl alive.
I mentioned to the lovely peeps at Robert Kaufman that I wanted to challenge myself to use some solids in the next book - you know, 'cause I never use solids and I always use patterns. And they took me at my word, because in the UPS man's van was two Bounty of Basics boxes, plus a whole bunch of jelly rolls and charm packs, in every colour of the rainbow.
Wowzers! I can't stop petting it all, it's SOOO pretty. Thank you SOOO much Robert Kaufman!
I started teaching my regular class at Cottage Quiltworks on Wednesday - I would be able to show you lots of lovely pictures of the students making my quilts like Hanging Lanterns, The Night Garden, some old favourites like The Seasons and Candy Shop, and this new one that is in Quilter's Newsletter this month, Shades of Grey-
It's not really this yellow, I promise. All the pics in this post are really yellow and horrid - it is so wet and cold and dark here that there is no natural light and I can't get my pics the right colour no matter how much I correct!
My classes at Cottage Quiltworks in Warriewood are absolutely full to bursting, and so the girls have opened another block of classes up. If you would like to come and make a quilt with me, just give Chris or Jann a bell at the shop and they will get you a spot! Hooray!
After teaching the class I did a little shopping at the beautiful Cottage Quiltworks... there were too many tasty new fabrics around the place, and I just HAD to have a piece of this rose fabric. Once I got it home I totally confused myself my laying it out on the Kona-Bonanza...
Pinks and purples?
Pinks and blues?
A bit of everything plus that delicious stripe? ooooh I can't decide....
While I ponder, rearrange and pat, I will leave you with this little gem, made for me by my lovely friend Peta for my birthday. Peta made me a beautiful crocheted apple jacket a few weeks ago from the new issue of Mollie Made.
Warning, if you have not had a good laugh today, here it is, it's coming your way.

Oh my I want those boxes - enjoy!

It is like Christmas in July!! Lucky girl!! I just got my issue of QNL and immediately saw your quilt... lovely! I can't wait to see what you will do with your solids. By the way, don't you just hate when you can't get enough light for taking photos?

Envy get thee away from me!! But then I would have a hard time not just looking but having to cut into all those beautiful solids. I haven't even been able to cut into my stash of From Little Things fabrics yet. Obviously I have a problem. It is sweltering here in the states. I'd love to take your class in AU if I could only get there.... Guess I will have to pore over your beautiful book once again instead.
