Those of you who've been reading along with me a for a while will remember that I have mentioned this before a few times... but really, if you haven't yet subscribed to the International Quilt Study Centre's Quilt of the Month yet, you really must. It's FREE, and every month they send you an image of a different, usually antique, quilt, and some info about it.
If you're interested in the history of quilting at all, or just like eye candy, hop over and check out this month's offering - this beautiful red and white applique album quilt from the 1800's. There's an interesting bit of info about why these beautiful album quilts are breaking down and need extra TLC. Well worth a look.

Gorgeous! I thought I subbed -- must have goofed it up. Off to read about this beauty.

I am incredibly lucky to be from that area and still have family in Lincoln and surrounding cities. Whenever I fly home to see my family, I always ALWAYS go to the IQSC - it is a spectacular facility. Their website is amazing - the Quilt Explorer is a total time drain. You can get happily lost for hours playing around designing quilts, looking through their ENORMOUS collection, etc.
I love the quilt of the month from them too - it's the best way to start a new month!
