Live in Brisbane and looking for something to inspire some interesting twists in your crafting? Feel like a little trip to Queensland to be inspired by some amazing tutors? This show is the thing for you....
The Textile Art Festival is on at the Brisbane Exhibition Centre June 25 - 27. You can book in for classes with tutors such as Wendy Bailye, Susan Filer, Sharyn Hall, Marina Lindsay, Cathy Moon, Ken Smith, Ceclie Whatman and Louise Snook. Classes range from dyeing fabric and screen printing to machine embroidery and needle felting.
Brenda Smith and Kirsten Duncan will be demonstrating techniques used in the Twelve by Twelve quilts, which are also on display, and there is a new area where you can actually watch the tutors at work dying, screen printing, felting and sewing.
And of course there will be heaps of amazing shops so you can stock up your stash with all the things you don't have and need so desperately! Wish I could go... but I will be in Brisbane on the Sewn stand for the Craft and Quilt Fair in October, so I'll see you all then instead!
AND... speaking of all things Queensland... don't forget that SUE SPARGO is coming to Australia in August, and we can add the Gold Coast to the list of her stops! Contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
